OTF Summer Institute - Call For Presenters

The Ontario Teachers’ Federation (OTF), with funding from the Ministry of Education, is committing resources to support professional learning experiences for its members in the summer of 2017.

OTF will be supporting the development and delivery of one or three-day summer institutes in July and August, 2017. The institutes will equip teachers with the requisite knowledge and skills to implement the revised Ontario curriculum using promising, research-informed teaching and learning practices. Each of these institutes will consist of small groupings of a maximum of 25 participants and will be offered and hosted in different geographical areas across the province.

OTF recognizes and values the work of Subject/Division Associations (Associations) and members of the OTF Curriculum Forum.  Consequently, we are inviting you to submit a preliminary proposal to develop and facilitate these 2017 OTF Summer Institutes.

While we invite proposals from all educators, priority consideration will be given to those who have supported OFSHEEA in the past as a member or are currently members of OFSHEEA.

The OTF Summer Institutes will have a complementary focus on aspects such as assessment for and as learning, inquiry-based teaching and learning, 21st century skills and dispositions (including, but not limited to, leveraging information communication technologies {ICT} in the service of teaching and learning), discipline-specific thinking concepts; healthy, active living, equity and inclusive education, First Nations, Métis and Inuit perspectives, and financial literacy.

If you are interested in proposing a summer institute, please download and complete the form below.  Email it to This email address is being protected from spambots.
